Lauki Ki Sabzi | Bottle Gourd Recipe | Dudhi Recipe | Calabash | Sorakaya Dish| White Flowered Gourd


Do you remember the #pipe used by #SherlockHolmes for #smoking? If I tell you that its made of #gourd would you #believe me? No, I guess but it true that smoking pipes can be made from gourd but Mr. Holmes had which material smoking pipe I have no idea! Anyways, today's cards holds a #fresh, #healthy, #nutritious and #tasty #recipe which is really #good for people with #weight #loss #routine or who has an #upset #stomach.

So, let’s get started champions!

  • Preparation time 10 mins

  • Cooking time 20 mins

  • Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 500 gms : Lauki / bottle gourd

  • 1 Cup : Onion

  • 1 Cup : Tomatoes

  • 2 Whole : Green chili

  • 1 Tea spoon : Jeera / cumin seeds

  • ½ Tea spoon : Heeng / asafetida

  • 1 Tea spoon : Kasuri methi / fenugreek leaves

  • 2 Tea spoon : Turmeric powder

  • 2 Tea spoon : Coriander powder

  • 1 Tea spoon : Garam masala

  • 2 Table spoon : Mustard oil

  • ½ Cup : Water

  • Table salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take pressure cooker on medium flame, add mustard oil

  2. Add jeera / cumin seeds, heeng / asafetida, green chili and let them crackle

  3. Add onion, tomatoes and saute for 2 minutes

  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, kasuri methi / fenugreek leaves, table salt

  5. Sauté till oil separates

  6. Add peeled and chopped lauki / bottle gourd, water and mix well

  7. Close the lid of the pressure cooker

  8. Open the lid after 5 whistle

  9. Ready to serve

*#Tip:

  1. Can garnish with coriander leaves

  2. Chilly powder or chilly flakes are optional

**#Serve with chapatti, roti, fried rice, paratha, poori, rice
