Chowlai | Pahadhi Palak | Amaranthus Recipe | Red Sago Dish | Uttarakhand Recipe

No. here we go then, #Chaulai / #Amaranthus, is commonly grown #green #vegetable that has lots of #proteins, #vitamin C, #minerals and #fibers that it’s not only good for #digestive #problems but also cures #anemia. Due to the presence of #gold #metal and gowning anywhere in #rainy and #summer season are enough facts to make it #unique to other vegetables.

So, today let’s make #easy but #nutritious, #healthy and #mouthwatering dish!

  • Preparation time 5 mins

  • Cooking time 15 mins

  • Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 kg : Chowlai / amaranthus

  • 1 Tea spoon : Turmeric powder

  • 1 Tea spoon : Coriander powder

  • 1 Tea spoon : Jakhiya / wild mustard / dog mustard

  • ½ Table spoon : Table salt

  • 2 Table spoon : Mustard oil

Instructions

  1. Chop chowlai / amaranthus finely

  2. Take a kadhai on medium flame, add mustard oil

  3. Add jakhiya / wild mustard / dog mustard and let it crackle

  4. Add chopped chowlai / amaranthus and sauté for 3 minutes

  5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and table salt

  6. Mix after every 5 minutes and cover with lid

  7. Serve on a plate

*#Tip

  1. Can add chili powder or chili flakes

  2. Can add potatoes before step 4

**#Serve with roti, paratha, poori, rice
