Aloo Matar | Punjabi Recipe | Dhabha Style | Potato-Green Pea Recipe | Healthy Recipe


#Potatoes are so #friendly that they can be blended with any #vegetables. It contains #water, #carbohydrates, #protein and negligible #fats. It also is one of the #highest consumed #staple food of the world. On the other hand, #green #peas have #starch, #fiber, #protein, #vitamins, #phosphorus, #magnesium, #iron, #zinc and #lutein. Combining the two they form a #well-blended pair and give us a #nutritious and #healthy dish.

#AlooMatar

  • Preparation time 10 mins

  • Cooking time 30 mins

  • Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 250 gms : Matar / green pea

  • 2 Cup : Potatoes

  • 1 Tea spoon : Jeera / cumin seeds

  • ½ Tea spoon : Heeng / asafetida

  • 1 Tea spoon : Turmeric powder

  • 1 Tea spoon : Coriander powder

  • 1 Tea spoon : Garam masala

  • ½ Cup : Coriander leaves

  • 1 Cup : Tomatoes

  • 4 Table spoon : Mustard oil

  • 4 Cup : Water

  • Table salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take pressure cooker on medium flame, add mustard oil

  2. Add jeera / cumin seeds, heeng / asafetida and let them crackle

  3. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala

  4. Add table salt and sauté till oil separates

  5. Add potatoes and sauté for 2 mins

  6. Add matar / green pea and close the lid of the pressure cooker

  7. Open the lid after 5-6 whistle and garnish with coriander leaves

  8. Ready to serve

*#Tip: Chilly powder or chilly flakes are optional


**#Serve with chapatti, roti, fried rice, rice, poori
